Giulianova, November 6, 2021 – About six weeks after his professional debut, Giulianova’s own Edoardo D’Addazio returned to the ring for his second pro bout. The venue was the PalaCastrum in Giulianova, where the 25-year-old Italian faced Croatia’s Matija Petrinic in the main event of a fight night that also featured five amateur bouts.

A Full Fight Night at PalaCastrum: Organization and D’Addazio’s Momentum

The event was organized by Accademia Pugilistica Giulianova together with ASD Italia Boxe. For D’Addazio, it was the next step after his impressive win on September 18, 2021, when he stopped fellow Italian Fabrizio Mezzone in his professional debut. Prior to turning pro, he had built a strong amateur résumé with 40 bouts: 26 wins, 6 draws, and 8 losses.

On the eve of the fight, D’Addazio made his intentions clear: “I’ll give everything I have to make my big dream come true.” That dream is to break through at the highest level of professional boxing.

Training, Sacrifice, and Discipline: Working with Coach Luciano Caioni

To chase that goal, Edoardo chose the toughest route—daily work, strict discipline, and long hours in the gym. His preparation is constant and demanding, both physically and technically. Alongside roadwork and conditioning, he is guided by coach Luciano Caioni, a former boxer and ex-Italian champion, now a respected trainer focused on D’Addazio’s technical development.

Sparring is also a key part of the process: controlled ring sessions against fighters of similar size and weight class, designed to sharpen timing, distance, and fight rhythm. Caioni has highlighted D’Addazio’s natural determination as a rare strength—an attribute that bodes well for the future.

“Passion” as the Driving Force: A Life Built Around Boxing

Edoardo describes passion as his engine—what pushes him to accept daily sacrifices, both physical and emotional. His routine revolves entirely around boxing: early-morning training, then another session in the gym later in the day. His nutrition follows an athlete’s discipline too—carefully planned meals, regular timing, and early nights to maximize recovery.

At this stage, sport is his number-one priority. Reaching the goals he has set requires consistency and focus at a level that makes it difficult to combine training with other commitments. But hard work does not scare him—D’Addazio is ready to give 100% and prove himself every time out.

The Fight: First-Round TKO Against Matija Petrinic

Inside PalaCastrum, D’Addazio delivered another statement win, stopping Petrinic by technical knockout in the super lightweight division. The Croatian fighter lasted just over two minutes: he was counted once, and moments later the referee halted the bout after noticing blood on Petrinic’s face, ending the contest in the first round.

The crowd erupted as the hometown fans celebrated. D’Addazio later explained the finishing sequence: “I started with body shots and saw him stepping back. Then I went upstairs, caught him a couple of times, kept pressing, and that was it—TKO.”

The Team and the Goal: Building Toward the Italian Title

It was an important milestone for the entire team behind the Giulianova boxer: the technical work led by coach Luciano Caioni, the local support and organization by Paolo Di Cristoforo and the Accademia Pugilistica Giulianova, and ASD Italia Boxe handling the managerial and commercial side.

The stated objective is the Italian Title. With this victory, Edoardo D’Addazio—“Hammer”—confirmed he is moving in the right direction.
