Montesilvano (PE), May 17, 2025 – It was a night to remember for boxing in Abruzzo: Edoardo D’Addazio, the Giulianova fighter known as “Hammer”, is the new Italian Super Lightweight Champion. At the PalaRoma in Montesilvano, D’Addazio overcame Rome’s Mauro Loli after a hard-fought, high-intensity bout, winning by unanimous decision: 97-95, 97-93, 96-95.
For D’Addazio, this marks his 13th straight victory in as many professional fights—an achievement that confirms his steady rise and places him among the top names in the division.
The fight: a gritty win despite a hand fracture
The battle for Italy’s tricolor belt was decided round by round. D’Addazio set the pace and stayed tactically sharp, finding effective answers against a determined and relentless Mauro Loli. What made the performance even more impressive was a key moment early on: D’Addazio had to manage a hand fracture suffered in the first round, yet he never lost focus or momentum.
In the end, the judges rewarded the Abruzzo boxer with a unanimous verdict: 97-95; 97-93; 96-95. The Super Lightweight belt now heads to Giulianova.
A major boxing night at PalaRoma
The main event took place during the fight card in Montesilvano organized by Opi 82, ASD Italia Boxe and Pugilistica Di Giacomo. A widely followed event, it brought a national title to the ring and delivered a true big-fight atmosphere.
D’Addazio: “I’m happy—Loli was a worthy opponent”
After the fight, D’Addazio thanked the crowd and his opponent:
“It’s a great win. I want to thank everyone who came to support me. Mauro Loli was a worthy opponent. I’m happy.”
The journey: from Accademia Pugilistica Giuliese to the Italian title
Developed as an athlete at the Accademia Pugilistica Giuliese under Paolo Di Cristofaro, Edoardo D’Addazio is trained by coach Luciano Caioni, a former Italian middleweight champion and a key figure in his growth. Winning the title is the result of daily training, discipline, and consistency—qualities D’Addazio brings into the ring and into life, in a professional journey that began in 2021.
With 13 wins (including 8 KOs), “Hammer” has become a leading name in Abruzzo boxing. His path also includes a milestone: in 2022, D’Addazio became the first Italian professional boxer supported in Bitcoin, a sign of innovation and the ability to build a modern, structured sports project.
